About The Addy

The Addy, officially known as The Old Quarry Adventure Playground, is a registered charity located in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. Established in 1972, it has been providing free, open-access play sessions for children and young people for over five decades.

As a cornerstone of the Knottingley community, The Addy offers a safe and nurturing environment for children and families, fostering play, support, and connection. In 2020, The Addy was honored as the Yorkshire and Humber Community Playground Champion.

The organization has received support from various dignitaries, including Home Secretary Yvette Cooper MP, who praised its invaluable contribution to the community.
